It seems like Vietnam has been rising after torn by the civil wars. After many years under the socialism, Vietnam opens its door for foreign capitals and in the last decade, Vietnam turns in to a new tiger in Asian economics. Many industries relocate it operation to Vietnam due to its natural resources and labors. Today, Vietnam is hailed as one with the highest economic rate in this region.

With the capitalism entered this country, Vietnam is turning to industrialization. However, industrialization always has two side of it and the worst side is the natural damage. In the first era of industrialization, Vietnam doesn’t have strict regulation for environmental protection. As a result, the environment suffers from high pollution rate. Not to mention the vast exploitation of Vietnam natural diversities. Vietnam becomes a source for wildlife trafficking. Off course it is a sad fact of industrialization.

Fortunately, Government made new regulations on environmental protection. With the rising awareness of environmental sustainability, all activities that possibly damage the environmental sustainability are considered as law violations. To enforce the law of environmental protection, Vietnam government initiated Environmental Police Department. Known as the Green Police, the environmental police department is the forefront of natural protection law enforcement. The green police have the jurisdiction to supervise and uncover any violations on environmental protection.

Since its initiation, the green police have made a huge contribution to Vietnam environmental sustainability. It has been uncovered lots of violations and sent the bad guys to the court. However, as the forefront of the law enforcement, the green police couldn’t work alone. Environmental protection should come from their awareness which unfortunately, is hard to find in most people who live in poverty. The Green Police is there to ensure that natural exploitation will only left suffer to Vietnam people.
